This afternoon I took an hour off of work to walk around the part of Amsterdam that is close to our office. It was a sunny day compared to the rest of the week and what it's supposed to be like for the rest of the weekend. But that's not saying a whole lot as you can tell by this picture! I wandered around the canals looking at the beautiful houses. It was super cold and windy though, and was actually pretty glad to be back at the office after an hour! Here's one of the prettier pictures I took!
looks lovely - do you think those houses/condos/apts are for rich people or regular people?
ReplyDeleteWell there are 100km of canals in the city, so that's 200km of houses. So I think they are for most people not just really rich people. I don't know how many are still houses (they were 6m wide traditionally in the old days, but rich people had lots as big as 12m wide and houses with 40 rooms) and how many are converted to apartments.
ReplyDeleteEvery house on every street in this city is pretty much the same. I think the canals might be a bit more expensive, but I will have to do more research!
